2008 – JJW ARKITEKTER Researcher
Brady Peters is currently working towards his PhD in Architecture. His research investigates new interfaces between acoustical science and architectural design. The work focuses on integrating computer-based acoustic simulation with new parametric computer-aided modelling techniques to develop complex surfaces that, through their shape and material, can be part of an acoustically well-balanced space. This research is sponsored by JJW, Carlbro/Grontmij, RealDania, and the Centre for Information Technology and Architecture (CITA) at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. 2003 – 2008 – FOSTER + PARTNERS, London, UK Associate Partner Brady was a member of the Specialist Modelling Group (SMG), an internal research and development consultancy, and worked on many of the practice’s projects involving complex geometry, including the Smithsonian Courtyard, Thomas Deacon Academy, West Kowloon Masterplan, the New Copenhagen Elephant House, SECC Arena, Florence TAV Station, and 51 Lime Street Offices. 2001 – 2003 – BURO HAPPOLD, London, UK Architectural Assistant 2000 – GEMMILL DESIGN, San Francisco, USA Architectural Assistant 1998 – MONTGOMERY SISAM ARCHITECTS, Toronto, Canada Architectural Assistant ACADEMIC EMPLOYMENT 2006 – 2009 - Smart Geometry Conferences: Cambridge, New York, Munich, San Francisco Tutor, Smart Geometry Workshops 2008 – 2009 -University of Gent, School of Architecture, Gent, Belgium Guest Instructor, Digital Design Methods Year 3 and Digital Fabrication Workshop Year 2 2007 - Nottingham University, School of Architecture, Nottingham, UK Instructor, Third Year Architectural Design 1999 – 2001 - Dalhousie University, School of Architecture, Halifax, NS, Canada Teaching Assistant for Construction and Structures II and III, First Year Architectural Design, and Visual Communication |
